Photographs have long been recognized as having enormous significance not just as chief vehicle for preserving memories and personal and family history, but as capturing events and important markers in time. I have rescued from oblivion amazing snapshots and portraits of people. Each, a trace from another era. My interest lies in creating a link between the America of the past and the America of today. To explore current American social issues and start a conversation taking a neutral stance and leaving the viewer to decide what they believe is right.

The idea of Nature verses Nurture and the scientific, cultural, and philosophical debate that surrounds the arguement, is something that influences all of my work. I use motifs from religion, literature, psychology, biology and history to create a dialog about what is inherent in our nature, our behaviors, and our choices. Ultimately, creating a commentary on current American Culture.
